Founded in 2008
Chris Powell launched Commodity Search Partners in a small office in Brighton, with a plan to offer energy and commodities businesses an alternative to the multinational recruitment firms.
2009 First employee joins
In January 2009, we hired Eddie Le Roux as our first recruit, to lead the development of our finance practice. Eddie is still with the business today, and is a successful director running our market-leading finance team.
2010 Bring on the Big Apple
In April 2010, we opened our first overseas office when we established a New York office in midtown Manhattan. That move gave us a huge opportunity to expand our business into North America, and proved a critical milestone in our global expansion.
2011 A key mandate
In 2011, we were delighted to be retained by a major European energy firm to work on the re-build of its gas and power business, across trading, origination, analytics and support functions. Our successful delivery of that mandate put us firmly on the commodities map.
2012 Opening AsiaPac
In July 2012, our second international office launched in Singapore, opening the firm’s gateway in to Asia Pacific. Driven by demand from our European clients to support their growth in that region, it has grown into a really successful office, working across numerous countries, functions and markets.
2015 Merger with Proco
In November 2015, we combined Commodity Search Partners with Proco Group, a business we had worked closely with for many years, with a complementary culture and approach.
2017 Proco Commodities is born
In September 2017, we rebranded as Proco Commodities, a year after opening our fifth office in Los Angeles. Our diverse team of commodities experts continues to grow, offering clients access to extensive networks and unparalleled knowhow around the world.
